How Employers Can Get a 10% Refund on Admin Charges by Updating Employee KYC Details

Employers could claim a 10% refund of administrative charges. EPFO has approved an incentive scheme for employers to seed Universal Account Number (UAN) with Know Your Customer (KYC) documents. An employer can claim a 10% refund of administrative charges paid during the quarter if the establishment provides Aadhar card details of 80% of employees, bank details of all employees, and PAN card details wherever applicable. This scheme will become operational from October 1 for one year.

Dear Emmkay,

Thank you for the valuable suggestion you have shared. However, my question is: is there any notification or letter issued by the department that supports the above incentive scheme?

Kind regards, [Your Name]

The proposal of giving a 10% refund on admin charges was discussed and intimated by EPFO several times. During the 208th Central Board of Trustees (EPF) meeting in Hyderabad held on 16th Sep 2015, the trustees approved this incentive scheme for employers. However, no notification on the same has been issued yet.

I am attaching the minutes of the meeting (MOM) from a review meeting held in Ahmedabad attended by PF officials, which includes the proposal of the said incentive.

Hi, can anybody write the process on how to claim a refund for the administrative charges? Is it an online process or offline that needs to be filled out by the employer? Please assist.

Thanks & Regards,
