Why Does My New Job Offer Less Provident Fund and Bonus Compared to My Last One?

saurabh.bajpai23
My name is Saurabh, and I’m a Social Worker by profession. Since June 2011, I have been working in a Pvt Ltd Company, and my salary was ₹42,000/- (Basic-₹25,200 + ₹16,800) with the advantage of P.F ₹1,800/- by the employer and a bonus of 8.33% of the basic earning salary in the calendar year. Last year, I shifted my job to another Ltd company where my salary is ₹46,000/- PM, but they are not giving me the benefit of P.F and only a bonus of ₹3,500/-. When I asked our managers about this, he replied that my basic salary is above ₹15,000/- and I am not entitled to the same benefits, and as per company policy, a minimum bonus of ₹3,500/- is allowed. However, in my last company, there was no such rule. All employees were given the benefit of P.F. Why is there this difference? Please help and tell me everything about P.F as well as the bonus.

Regards,
Saurabh

Dear Mr. Saurabh,

For statutory claims, the ceiling salary limit for EPF is Rs. 15,000, and the bonus is Rs. 10,000.

Hey, I'm trying to study on my own about PF and ESIC. I am stuck with many queries. Can anybody help me out? What if the basic is 4000, what would be the employee contribution on PF? And is there any limit on the money that an employee can save in his PF?

Dear Avantikar,

For a salary of Rs. 4000, the PF contribution is Rs. 480 each by both the employee and the employer. In addition, the employee may deposit additional investments with the consent of the Sub Regional PF Commissioners.

Dear Saurabh sir,

If the existing employer is registered with a PF ID, then they are liable for the PF contribution. Before that, read your appointment letter in detail for the same.

Dear, if anyone is getting less than 15000, then the PF will calculate on the same amount. Another thing that I want to make clear is if you are getting 4000 as a basic (if D.A. is not there), then you can ask your HR to provide the basic as per the Minimum wages of your state. Because 4000 is very less.
