Can My New Employer Discover My Previous PF Details Through My UAN Number?

abhinaykmr07
I am working with a company where my basic salary is 7500, and my PF deduction is 895. I was selected in a good company, but at the time of the interview, I showed my new employer my basic salary as 15k and PF deduction as 1850. Now, I just want to know if my new employer can see my old company's PF deduction of 895 through my UAN number.

Whatever you did is not ethical. However, employers don't have access to check the old contributions through UAN.

Even if he does not have access, what stops him from asking you to log in and show him your account? He will get the details from there. Also, he will be able to see when he asks you for the previous salary slip.

Understanding Employer Access to PF Details

What document did you show as proof of the Rs. 15,000 basic salary? Didn't it occur to you that the new employer will ask for a salary slip, Form 16, etc.? Anyway, the new employer will not ask you to show your PF account online, right? If you tell the truth, you do not have to remember what you have said earlier. All these are self-created problems for which there is no remedy. If the employer checks properly, the truth will come out. Just pray that your employer does not dig too deeply."

How much is 12% of 15000? Certainly not 1850, as it gets locked at 1800 under EPS rules.
