Dear Junaid,
Sorry; I am not able to cull out from your post exactly what rules you want to know. HR Policy of any organisation irrespective of its constitution covers the clearly spelt-out rules regarding hiring, training, assessment, rewarding and termination of employment of its employees. In other words they are the terms of the contract of employment between the employer and the employee. Anyway they have to be in accordance with the provisions of the applicable Labour Laws as well as Public Policy.

Junad, what is your qualification in HR ? Where did you study ? What did you study ? If you had really studied your subject, you would not be asking these questions in a forum like this. HR Policies are general in nature and based out of various theories. These policies vary from organisation to organisation. Unless your organisation is itself quite new, once you join the HR Department, your seniors would have briefed on the existing policies and procedures. Therefore, I have a very strong doubt about the purpose of your posting here. If you want to start creating a new HR policy manual itself for a new start-up firm, again, you cannot simply pull out things from the manual and implement them. Whatever you want to implement, should first find acceptance from your bosses or the management. Every policy or procedure that you want to implement will have a monetary impact and consequently on the revenue budget. Therefore, just do your home work properly and come back to us and pose meaningful queries.

Best wishes

Hi Junaid, -- 13.9.2015

Thank you for your query in CiteHR reg. setting up of HR Dept & framing of Policies for Private Companies. Setting up of HR Dept., adopting various HR Policies, Standing Orders, Leave & Service Rules etc., depends upon the type of Co./Industry, no. of employees, State labour Rules, intentions of Management and varies from Company to Company as already mentioned by Seniors.I have worked for 30 yrs. in 6 Mfg. Cos. (in HR, IR, LEGAL & Admn. works of Steel, Power, Chemical, Electronic Mfg.Cos. & Mines) with 1000+C.L., I have setup HR Dept. from the scratch/beginning of the Factory, Framed Standing Orders, HR Manual, all Policies, Procedures, Rules, Systems, & Formats for all HR Jobs in Soft-copy for easy Presentation & Adoption. I can provide Consultancy to setup HR Dept. with all Rules, Procedures, Systems, Policies, Formats etc., from Recruitment to Seperation.

HRManager has to Draft HR Policies after GM/MD giving dtls. of Cos. Vision, Mission, Obj., MP reqd, Posts, Salary, Benefits.

HRM should ask GM/MD a. What Policies tobe adopted; b. Whether HRM to Draft or hire Consultant & start as appd by GM/MD.

For Cos.with 100+ employees, better hire Consultant with 20+ yrs exp. in Mfg.Co.s. He must frame Policies for Co.interest, its employs, Complying with Labour Acts, vis-a-vis similar Cos. in the area as HR Policies will affect Co.Reputation & its employees Morale & Retention. I can provide all POLICIES . Pl sms ur Mail Id to send full dtls/ph.me 9535470460. I am at B'luru [Login to view]
