How Should I Explain a Cash Salary to a New Employer Without Embarrassment?

Kumar1254
Hello Friends, I am Kumar, working as a software developer with about 2 years of experience. For the past year (since July 2014), I have been working in a startup company, and now I have an opportunity at a reputed company. They have requested my payslips and bank statements for the last three months (May 2015, June 2015, and July 2015).

Issue with Salary Payment

The issue I am facing is that all my salaries from July 2014 to June 2015 were received via online transfer, except for the salary for July 2015, which was paid in cash due to a corporate bank issue.

Request for Suggestions

Can anyone suggest the best way for me to proceed? How should I inform them that my last month's salary was received in cash? I feel quite embarrassed about this situation.

Kindly provide any solutions for this.

Thanks,
Kumar

Dear Kumar,

You can ask your employer to provide you with a salary certificate stating that the salary was paid to you in cash. The salary certificate should be on the company letterhead and include the signature of the authorized signatory.
