Understanding the Indian Factory Act 1948 and OSHA: Can You Help Explain the Basics?

Michael Lawrence
Hello friends,

Could anyone please explain the key points of the Indian Factory Act of 1948 and OSHA regulations briefly? This question was part of my recent interview.

Thank you.

The Indian Factory Act of 1948, OHSAS, and IS18001 are different. The Factory Act and OHSAS may contain some common points.

In OHSAS 18001, there are many clauses regarding the environment. Most points come from the Factories Act. If you are trying to get the certification, then prepare identification materials as per the various sections of the Factories Act. We have also applied for it.
