Confused About EDLI Calculation: Should It Be Based on EPS or EPF Wages?

punitsatna
Kindly confirm if we calculate PF monthly returns correctly or incorrectly as below:

- Employee share: 12% of EPF wages
- Employer share: 3.67% contribution to EPF
- Employer share: 8.33% as EPS (Pension Contribution) (PF Wage Ceiling 15000/-)
- Admin Charge: 0.85% on EPF Wages
- EDLI: 0.50% on EPS Wages
- Admin Charge on EDLI: 0.01% (Minimum 200/-)

Is EDLI calculated on EPS wages or EPF wages? Kindly confirm.

Thanks,

Dear Manu,

The Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) contribution is 0.5% of wages subject to a wage ceiling of Rs. 15,000.

Dear Punitsatna,

The maximum contribution to EDLI will be based on the ceiling salary. Accordingly, administrative charges will also be calculated on the actual salary up to the ceiling limit.
