Hi Citehr Team, My name is Prateek Sadana. I was part of a reputed company. I got a better opportunity, and because of that, I had to leave that organization on an urgent basis. I marked my resignation email to HR. According to the policy, my notice period is two months, and according to HR, I have to pay two months of salary (gross earnings), which includes "BASIC, HRA, CONV, MED ALL."

The appointment letter mentions that "Whereas the company reserves the right to request the service of notice or pay salary in lieu of your notice period. Waiver or payment in lieu will be at the sole discretion of the company."
I read a few of your articles, and according to those articles, I have to pay the Daily Allowance and Basic salary, but in my salary description page, the Daily Allowance isn’t mentioned.
So, do I have to pay my basic salary or gross according to the policy? If I need to pay my basic salary, please share a government-written article so that I can show it to my company’s HR as proof. Please help me out. I will wait for your quick response.
