Hi All, I have been working in a CMMI Level 3 company since April 2015 as a Senior Software Engineer. The project I was working on was closed due to some client management issues. Now, my employer has given me a one-month notice to terminate my job. I was hired as a permanent employee, and this termination is not due to performance issues as the client provided positive feedback about my work. I am still in the probation period of six months as per the offer letter, with a one-month notice period initially, and it becomes two months after confirmation.
Question About Employment Termination
My question is, can an employer issue a notice to you just because the assignment was closed, especially just ten days after the project ended? Can I demand compensation as it has disrupted my career without any fault of mine? Finding the right job will take some time.
Legal experts, please share some insights here. I feel cheated as there was no mention in the offer letter that being on the bench could lead to termination with just one month's notice.
