Dear Raaj,

Thank you for the information; it is useful. I am working in a BPO as an HR generalist in Mysore, and I am looking forward to starting some training activities. It would be great if you could guide me on how I can start and provide some materials on important topics required for BPO. My email address is amithrm@gmail.com.

Dear Amit,

Thanks for your appreciation. First of all, you will have to start by conducting a TNI/TNA (Training Need Identification/Analysis). Once this is done, you will have to chart out a training calendar.

Training in the corporate world is all about marketing your training department to your internal customers (i.e., the business). That's the most complicated thing for which you actually need to bring out the concept and relevance of training.

Once you complete this activity, then the training material and delivery come into the picture. It's a process, Amit, which just cannot be explained in an email. Feel free to get in touch with me.

Thanks, Raaj

Dear Raj,

Can you send me the process on how to conduct TNI/TNA for any employee, i.e., staff/workers? I have limited knowledge about training. Please guide me.

Hi Raaj,

I have also started my career in training and development and have only a year of experience now. I was an introvert before and had stage fright, but now I can confidently speak to a crowd of 60 as well. I am very passionate about my job because it has changed me as a person. Nice to meet you, Raaj. Both our interests match :D
jyothiandraj
Hi Raj,

My name is Jyothi. I am currently working as a consultant with one of the recruitment firms. I have 4.5 years of experience in banking. I was with ICICI Bank in their retail liabilities operations. I wanted to transition into HR, so I quit the bank. Upon the suggestion of a few friends, I ventured into recruitment. However, I now realize that this role is not aligned with my interests. It feels more like a telesales job to me. Even during my time at the bank, I excelled in training my colleagues in operations and other quality aspects.

How should I proceed if I want to pursue a career in training?

Regards,
Jyothi

Dear Raaj,

This is just great! So well described and gets the point across right to the core. I am working on a training module on "Brand called YOU" for my team. It's based on self-branding/marketing, something on personality development lines. Can you suggest some sub-topics and activities for the same?

Thanks again for sharing your work.

Dear Mr. Raaj,

In our organization, we are struggling to determine the ROI of our training programs. Could you please provide guidance on this matter? I would greatly appreciate it if you could share the Training Assessment format used for both Technical and Behavioral training.

Thank you.

Well, if you all want more information on training, please let me know.

Hey, I just got an idea right now while posting this message. Would you like me to start a training series where every week I can upload some important training fundamentals?

Training Series Week 1 - Why Training?

Training Series Week 2 - Train the Trainer (What makes an effective trainer and so on?)

Please share your ideas and views on this.

Thank you,
Raaj

Dear Raj,

This is Hina from Pakistan. I am pursuing my MPA in HRM. I want to focus my thesis on either training or Industrial Relations. However, I am unsure about specifying a particular field in this regard. Could you please guide me on what I should do considering the current scenario?

Hi Raaj!

Your article was very interesting. More than that, your offer to assist others on the subject was commendable. I am an HR student and am mulling over my thesis. I had chosen 'Recruitment Training' as the subject. For starters, I need some ideas on what to include in the following:

(a) Statement of the problem

(b) Hypothesis

Hi Raj,

Thank you for sharing the needful information. I am working in a consultancy as a recruiter. Actually, my interest lies in training (learning) and development. Dear All,

I have been teaching English language in a school for the past 10 years. During this time, I have been actively involved in conducting various public speaking programs and providing training as well.

With this valuable experience, I have transitioned into the field of training and development in HR. Currently, I am also pursuing an MBA from XLRI via satellite.

I am seeking appropriate guidance to excel in this new career path and assistance in achieving significant career growth. I would greatly appreciate any guidance on the common designations used in the training and development sector. I have been tasked with defining my Key Result Areas (KRA) and my designation, as this is a newly established unit within the company for which I hold sole responsibility for execution.

Thank you all for your support.

Hi Raj,

Can you provide me with some material on Training Needs Analysis? Where and how should I start in an organization with 150 executives? Do you have any templates or questionnaires available?

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated as I am eager to learn how to begin this process.

Thank you,
Suma

Hi Raj,

It's a very good lesson for HR. I'm also in HR (Training); I joined in July only. I have no more experience about this. In my organization, we want to make training evaluation effective. Could you guide us on how we can do that? I am working in a government organization, so I want to know the role of HR in the government and private sectors.

Please mail me or reply to me at sureja_mayuri@rediffmail.com. A reply is a must.

Hello,

I am doing my PGD in HRM, and as a part of my course, I am required to do a project on a topic related to HR. I've chosen "emerging trends in training & development." Could you please help me out with some information on this?

Thank you,

Hi Raj & Reshma,

It's great to see your passion for training. I am also trying hard to get into training, but it's taking time. Since I have 4 years of operational experience and have never been in hardcore training, it doesn't seem easy for me to get into training. Although I have conducted some sessions on Customer Service, Soft Skills, etc.

Can you please suggest how I should go about it? I tried in my current organization as well, but that doesn't seem to be working. I was thinking of assisting some trainers to gain exposure. Kindly suggest, as I also want to gain professional expertise in training.

Looking forward to your reply.

Regards,
Rajesh

Hello Raj,

A good contribution that will help many 'trainers' who need a real focus and purpose in the programs they conduct. May I take this opportunity to place a request to budding trainers - please set instructional objectives and terminal behavior and start designing a program.

Good luck!

That's a very nice presentation. Trainers should continuously motivate people to learn and not only tell them what they should know. Trainers make learning a passion for students.

Dear Raj,

Indeed, a nice read. However, I think there need to be 7 more secrets to get more out of the training in corporate. The issue I have faced is that the real learning from the training cannot be measured. Do you have any inputs on this?
