Is It Hard to Find a Software Engineering Job After 30? Seeking Advice on Age Concerns

babbal20
Hi all, I'm working as a senior software engineer/team lead in a mid-level IT company, and I have extensive experience in development with the latest technology, with over 6 years of experience. I have just crossed the age of 30. Due to moving to a new city, I have to change companies. There is a concern about whether I can find an engineering job at my age. Many people have told me that most companies do not hire developers over the age of 30. What do you think? Is this true? Some job postings specify a requirement of 8 years of experience, making it challenging for individuals under the age of 30 to meet such criteria.

Thank you.

Hi,

Don't get disappointed with yourself considering age factor affecting your career opportunities. As you mentioned, you have over 6 years of experience in development, so make it your strength and start searching for jobs. You will find better opportunities than before.

In my opinion, knowledge never dies, and you should choose a company that values your knowledge rather than your age.
