Worried About PF Withdrawal Due to a Name Spelling Mistake? Here's What You Can Do

Dear Sir,

I have already crossed more than 12 years and have not withdrawn my PF yet. Recently, when I planned to do so, I realized that there is a small mistake in my PF A/c name and Bank A/c Name - My name on Bank A/c is Subhash Deo Hiwase, and PF A/c Name is Subash Deo Hiwase (only one "a" is missing). I am requesting to know - Will this pose a problem for withdrawal submission? Or what is the best course of action to avoid rejection? Looking forward.

Regards,
Subhash

Don't worry. Kindly ask your previous company's HR to submit a letter stating that due to some clerical mistake, details of the employee were sent wrongly. They have to submit one ID proof of your actual name, and the same shall be sent to the concerned department with attestation; mentioning that "I am sending you the original and actual details of the employee." They also have to resend Form-5 and Form-10 where they will have to write your correct data.

So, no need to panic.

Dear Friend,

In this case, you need to approach your previous employer who will draft a "Name Correction Letter" to the PF Department, duly signed by you and the authorized signatory of your previous company, and submit the same to the PF authority along with your ID proof. You will get your PF withdrawal without any problem.
