Hi,
Can anyone tell me..if we pay ex-gratia qrty, half yearly or annualy .. should we deduct esic over it..

Dear friend,
If the payment of ex-gratia is in lieu of bonus, it is not the part of salary. Accordingly ESI need not be deducted.

ESI contribution is not payable on any additional payment / remuneration paid at an interval exceeding two months.
Ex-gratia is an additional payment. There is no legal requirement or obligation on you to pay it. And you are paying it at an interval of more than two months i.e. quarterly basis, half yearly basis or annually. Therefore, no ESI contribution is payable by you.
