Confused About Teaching Eligibility: Can MHRM Graduates Teach in MBA Programs?

chaturricha
I have cleared my NET in human resources and have a degree in MHRM, which is AICTE approved. However, management institutes say only an MBA can be hired as per AICTE and not MHRM. Is it true? Can someone help me with this?

Dear Chaturricha, It seems you have completed MHRM affiliated with any of the recognized universities since it is approved by AICTE. AICTE is a statutory body that monitors, administers, and standardizes technical education and management systems in India. It is mandatory for any college running a University-affiliated Engineering or Management Degree to obtain AICTE approval.

In this case, I believe you should not encounter any problems securing a lectureship at any recognized universities in India for the subjects - Labour Welfare/Personnel Management/Industrial Relations/Labour and Social Welfare/Human Resource Management. You must have selected those subjects in your NET exam as listed at serial 55.

The management institute that states only MBA graduates can be hired is true only for management subjects as listed at serial 17. But for Human Resource subjects in an MBA, you should not face any issues.

These are my views. You may address your concerns to:

My course is an AICTE approved course, and I have cleared my NET in code 55. In fact, I have written an email to the AICTE chairman to clear this ambiguity. I hope it gets cleared. But these institutes are adamant. Moreover, they hire MBA students from local institutes with much lower salaries. Hence, I guess this may be an excuse to not pay a justified salary to a NET cleared person.
