New to PF Transfers? How Do I Move an Employee's Old PF to Our New Account?

Hi Everyone,

I'm Prasanna, working as an HR Executive in an IT company. I'm new to the online PF Portal. Could anyone please let me know what the procedure is for transferring an employee's old PF to a new account? As an employer, how can I transfer an employee's old company PF to our company's new account?

For transferring old provident fund accumulations, EPFO has introduced an online procedure in which a member can apply for the online transfer of their PF accumulations to the new PF account number through the Member Portal of EPFO at http://memberclaims.epfoservices.in/...t_transfer.php. Upon submission of the application through the member portal, the employer will receive an SMS as well as an email regarding this matter, and the system will direct the concerned employer to approve the same. Once the employer approves, the EPFO will execute the final process of transferring PF accumulations.

One more doubt regarding this: Few people told me that the employee has to fill Form-13 for PF transfer, and the employer will submit those forms in the PF office because the online PF transfer is not completely done. Is it true?

Yes, it's true; same is we will do that. If you try both ways, then you can go for it. However, it's better to go for filling form-13 as it is easier for submission.

Nowadays, the online services have been activated by the EPFO. It is advisable to submit applications online through the member portal to complete the assignment within the specified deadline.

My previous account had become inoperative. Now I have joined a new company and also got my UAN activated. After that, I have applied for a transfer from the inoperative PF account to my current account. I applied online, and the previous employer approved it immediately. Additionally, I have sent the signed copy of Form-13 to the previous employer. After this, how many days will it take for the transfer to get completed? What are the different status messages that I should see in the CLAIM Status?
