How Can I Explain My Employee Welfare Project Without Practical Experience in Interviews?

suvidhaN
Hi, I am an MBA HR graduate, and I have completed my academic project on the effectiveness of employee welfare measures. However, my concern is that I don't know how to explain it when the interviewer asks me about my project. I did not have the opportunity to gain practical experience during my internship in this area. I mainly focused on studying the welfare measures implemented in the company and conducting a survey. The interviewer expects me to share my practical experience from my internship, which I lack. Please help.

Dear Suvidha, What do you mean by "...I have not done any practical work in it during my internship."? How long was the internship, and what exactly did you do during your internship? Did you observe anything about the employee welfare measures being implemented or considered by the organization? How did you conduct the survey? Who were the participants of the survey, and how did you analyze their responses? Did you arrive at any conclusions from the survey results and make any recommendations?

Survey Details and Objectives

What were the aim and objectives of your survey? How did you go about selecting that topic, and how did you get the approval of the organizational authorities? The more information that you give, the more precise the help that you get.

Thank you, Nashbramhall, for replying. My internship program lasted for 2 months. The HR executive assigned me the topic of the effectiveness of employee welfare measures. The objective was to determine whether employees are satisfied with the existing welfare measures provided by the company, identify areas needing improvement, or ascertain any additional welfare schemes demanded by employees.

Following this, he instructed me to review the company's policies and provided information about the welfare measures already in place. Subsequently, I developed a questionnaire and submitted it to HR. Unfortunately, I was not permitted to meet the employees who responded to my survey.

I conducted the analysis, prepared a report, drew conclusions, and recommended additional welfare measures that the company could incorporate based on employee feedback. This encapsulates my activities during the 2-month internship period.

I was informed that attending the office was only necessary when required, with no obligation to be present daily. However, I am currently facing challenges in articulating my project during interviews as interviewers are looking for candidates with practical experience.
