New Office in Chennai: Do We Need to Register It Separately from Mumbai?

Hi all,

We have started a new office in Chennai. The total number of staff is only 4, and our establishment is registered in Mumbai. Now, my question is, do I need to register the Chennai office?

There is no provision in the TN Shops & Estt Act 1947 and the Rules 1948 for the registration of any shop or commercial establishment in Tamil Nadu.

Dear Mr. Banerjee,

There is no provision in the Act or Rules for any registration of the Shop/Estt/Office in TN (copy attached) unlike in many states. No form/fees are prescribed, and therefore, there is no chance for anybody to register their Shops/Estt/Office.
