Am I Eligible for a Pension After Withdrawing My PF at Age 49? Seeking Advice

RaviDJoshi
I worked in 3 organizations as follows:-

From Jan 1981 to April 1995

From May 1995 to Dec 1998

From Jan 1999 to March 2003.

My PF was transferred properly as I switched jobs. I withdrew my PF from the last organization (My Age was 49 at that time in March 2003), since the organization I joined did not have PF facility. I received 2 cheques as a result of withdrawal.

My question is: am I eligible for a pension? Currently, my age is 60+.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Dear Mr. Ravi D. Joshi,

On completion of 58 years of age, you are now required to apply for your pension. You are now eligible to receive your pension, along with the arrears for the previous two years.

Dear Ravi,

As per the PF rules, a member who has worked for around 10 years is eligible for the Pension Scheme. After completing 10 years of service, you are not able to withdraw from the Pension Scheme of Contribution. You can only apply for a Scheme certificate. Kindly confirm if you have received the Scheme certificate.

If you have received the scheme certificate, you will need to apply for your pension scheme with arrears amount of 2 years (Pension eligibility age is 58 years).

Thank you for your reply. Even after completing more than 10 years of service (14 years before 1995 and 8 years after 1995), I applied for withdrawal in 2004. (My birth date is 14-11-1954).

I received two cheques from EPFO in November 2004, with the subject of the letter as: "Final/Part settlement of P.F. Accumulations and withdrawal benefit Accumulations against P.F. Account No xxxxx."

Thus, I feel that I am not eligible for a pension as all contributions have been withdrawn from both the Employee and Employer. Please clarify.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Ravi Joshi,

Those who complete 10 years or more in EPS-95 (including service in family pension) are not eligible to get withdrawal benefit from the pension fund. First, confirm that you were a member of EPS-95. If so, fill out Form 10D to claim the pension, have it endorsed by the employer, and submit it to the concerned Sub Regional PF Commissioner's Office.
