I would like to request a sample or format on how to write a letter for an extension of employment contract for seafarers. Please kindly help me. I need it as soon as possible to seek their approval because I have no further ideas on how to start writing it. I can send it as early as possible before the end of my contract this coming February 2011.

I am hoping to extend for even just 1 month for the reason that I want to assist the vessel in their return journey in 2011.

Please see attached probation letter extension. I am currently using this here in our organization. However, we normally extend the probation period for 1 month. There are certain LAWS here that we have to follow in terms of extending the probation period.

I suggest you give a maximum of 3 months extension. On the second month of the employee's extension, re-do the appraisal. Right there and then, you can decide whether to keep the employee or not. As we normally say, why prolong the agony wherein you can't find improvements within the employee.
