In September 2014, I joined this private limited company as a management trainee. During the interview with the head of corporate affairs of the company, he informed me that I would be working as a coordinator for the software (LMS) that they had just purchased. Initially, I was fine with this arrangement, but my initial training was not completed, and I had to move to a different department, which is KYC.
Now, in February 2015, I completed the maximum period of probation as mentioned in the letter provided during my joining. When I inquired with my HOD about it, he mentioned that it would be done in April during the annual appraisal.
Subsequently, in April, I filled out the appraisal forms, and today I received two letters, namely Re-designation and Appraisal.
While I was a trainee, my payment was 90k per annum. In today's appraisal letter, it has only been increased by 9k, which amounts to approximately 750 per month.
I believe that when transitioning from a trainee to a permanent position, there should be a change in salary, as discussed during the interview. However, they have only given me a 10% appraisal, which was across the board, without any specific acknowledgment for completing the probation period.
Question on Pay Raise Grounds
My question is on what grounds can I ask my company for a pay raise? Are there any laws for private limited companies regarding payments and remuneration?
Please advise on how to proceed in this case.
