How Can I Successfully Transfer My Inoperative EPF Account After a Break in Service?

medhanak
I was in service from 1986 to 2009 and contributed to EPF for 23 years. Then I left and joined another institute from 2009 to 2014, where the EPF facility was not available. Consequently, my account became inoperative. However, in October 2014, I joined another institute and started contributing to EPF again. I applied using Form No. 13 to transfer my balance to my present EPF account. Unfortunately, my request was rejected due to a lack of a break statement.

Request for Advice on EPF Account Transfer

Please advise me on how to proceed with transferring my account. I have not been receiving interest on my balance for the past three years.

Thank you.

Dear Medhanak,

In my view, make a declaration that you are not in EPF-applicable employment for the period 2009-2014, get endorsed by the present employer, and submit along with Form 13. It's advisable to consult with the present Sub-Regional PF Office.
