CiteHR Members Meet: Collaborative HR Event in Ahmedabad

Hi Shahanal,

It would be nice to have a CiteHR meet in Ahmedabad. All HR members from Gujarat can attend it. I think we should hold the meet over a weekend - Saturday or Sunday so that everyone can join. If we could get an idea about the budget, we would also know how much each member should contribute.

Additionally, I will talk to a couple of my friends who are in HR and also CiteHR members. I am sure they too will join us for the meet.

Another suggestion I have is that we should have some kind of a short training session/presentation/debate if possible on new trends in HR. I am sure that would get a lot of members interested.

Lastly, if you need any help in any way from my end in planning the event, just let me know. I am in Surat and have a few friends in Ahmedabad who will gladly help us out.

It's a great idea. Please inform me before it is decided. Firstly, let you make your own plan including each and everything, and also the budget. Decide the place, list of activities, and send it to each HR member so they can send suggestions and ideas. It will help us finalize an excellent HR meeting. I am also thinking the same as you all have suggested. I am planning to invite someone from hardcore HR as a speaker who can deliver something on recent trends and changes in HR. I am also planning for some presentations as well, but for that, I have to select the venue accordingly so that we can get all the facilities. So, I am counting you in for the event. The tentative date for the event will be November 18th.

The idea of having a CiteHR members' Meet at Ahmedabad is a good one.

Some suggestions:

1. Can all CiteHR members based in Gujarat, who are interested in participating, please send your email ids, contact numbers (mobile), and your profile? This will help make a directory for Gujarat and give a rough estimate of numbers to expect. Knowing the profiles of the members will help plan an event that is of interest and of direct benefit to the participants.

2. Yes, a talk/seminar/workshop by a good consultant-trainer-speaker on useful HR trends is a must; as only that kind of input would attract all of us to attend! Considering everyone's busy work schedules, just meeting/interacting with other members will not necessarily be a motivating factor to attend the Meet.

3. Let us all come up with ideas of how to maximize the takeaways from the Meet. All suggestions are most welcome. It should be a collaborative effort of all the members. Let's practice teamwork and make it happen!

4. A one-day Meet (preferably on a Saturday) would be a great way to start. Once the program details and expected numbers of participants are chalked out, then the venue, catering, and commercials can be finalized. Accordingly, the price per participant can be arrived at.

5. The Meet should be only for CiteHR members, not for families/friends, etc. Let's make it an enriching and learning experience for us.
