The Employee Provident fund is deducted from the Employee’s monthly salary. The employer also contributes to the PF fund. From 1st September 2014, the EPFO has revised the basic wage limit on which PF contribution will be done from Rs. 6500 to Rs. 15000. Employers have to revise the PF deductions from September 2014 onward for all employees whose basic salary is less than or equal to Rs. 15000.

The maximum/ceiling limit of PF is 15,000 (Basic Salary). Note that here the basic salary is 50% of CTC. An employee who has basic + DA less than or equal to 15,000 as a basic salary may be covered under PF deductions. If it is more than 15,000, then the employer has the option to pay the ceiling amount (15,000 * 12%) = 1,800.

Ensure there is a single line break between paragraphs.

PF CEILING: 15000/- (BASIC+DA) = 15000 * 12 / 100 = 1800

ESI CEILING: 15000/- (GROSS SALARY) EMPLOYER CONTRIBUTION = 15000 * 4.75 / 100 = 712.5 EMPLOYEE CONTRIBUTION = 15000 * 1.75 / 100 = 262.5
