In simple words, Performance Management is a set of activities, initiatives, processes through which the organization can manage the performance of its key intangible assets i.e. its employees. This in turn helps the organization in its growth and development.
For eg. If a company has 10 employees : 2 top management, 3 middle management and 5 junior management, the organization would like to see how the individual performance would lead to accomplishment of a greater goal which is the mission, vision of the company. So, it would assess the employees according to certain pre-determined criteria.
I would suggest you search through cite hr or google and you would enrich yourself with vast knowledge.
But you should learn the basics first and then only implement along with your own ideas.
