Medical Bills and Privacy: Is It Necessary to Display the TIN Number?

I have received a medical bill without a TIN. When I asked, I was told that for privacy reasons, the TIN is not displayed, but all other details are mentioned. The TIN will be applied when we pay taxes. Is displaying the TIN mandatory on a medical bill? What are the mandatory fields on a medical bill?

As per the law, the CAT number is required to be displayed on each invoice along with the effective date. Not having it means the invoice is not valid for tax purposes. If you wish, you can file a complaint about this issue with the VAT department of your state.

If you have registered your firm with Sales Tax, then a TIN number is mandatory. If not, then it is not applicable.
