Enhancing Employee Engagement with Policy Knowledge

I have often noticed that employees don't go through the organization's policies and procedures, and some don't keep themselves updated. Policies could be related to HR, Finance, or their work and must be complied with. I am planning to create a quiz format to cultivate the staff's interest in policies and will organize a small one-hour policy workshop. I am confident that this test can help employees understand how up-to-date they are on policies and encourage them to dedicate time to review the policies. My goal is also to boost their interest and help them recognize the importance of policy knowledge and compliance.

Has anyone conducted a session like this before? Any input would be highly appreciated. I am unsure how to proceed with it.

Officials from the HR department can visit various departments from time to time and informally speak to employees over a cup of tea. Use the occasion to get feedback on HR problems and provide solutions wherever possible on the spot. Latest policy decisions and updates can be shared. This walkabout HR initiative will give a good idea to both employees and HR officials, providing insight into each other's work. A quiz on HR may not interest employees to that extent.

While your idea and effort is laudable and also quite necessary in organizations, I think Nathrao also has a point when he says, "A quiz on HR may not interest employees to that extent".

I suggest looking for ways to make the idea "implementable" -- maybe include some sort of recognition for those who either participate or give the right answers.
