Feeling Lost After Contract Termination: Can I Fight for Job Security and Legal Support?

Employment Termination Concerns

I am an employee in the position of Data Entry Operator at an Autonomous Education Institute (Govt) for the past six years on a contract basis (initially for two years) and then extended year by year on a fixed amount just above the minimum wage.

I want to clarify that I joined this job through the proper channels, such as an open advertisement, written test, interview, and selection based on merit. Now, my first employer is terminating my employment after six years of service. When I started the job, I was not aware of the difference between a contract and permanent employee, as at that time, the State Government was also hiring employees in a similar manner and regularizing their positions.

Currently, everything seems bleak and uncertain to me. I don't know what to do or where my family and I will go. Is it my fault if the employer advertised the position on a contract basis, even though it is a sanctioned post, and I went through all the stages just like a regular employee would?

The fault lies solely with the employer where there was no room for negotiating salary or terms and conditions. Every condition was set by the employer. We have dedicated six valuable years of our lives for mere coins, and now the Institute is revealing its true colors. They used us when they needed us, and now they are discarding us.

Seeking Advice on Regularization and Legal Support

Can I fight for regularization? Can I fight for the survival of myself and my family against these high-class giants? Will the laws of India support us? I ask because I am at a breaking point. We have worked tirelessly here, only to be exploited in return, receiving a meager fixed salary as if we were beggars.

Please, friends, help me.

Consult a lawyer well-versed in service matters, and if possible, file a writ before the High Court of the State.
