Feeling Stuck? Seeking Advice on Pursuing an HR Career While Managing Marriage and Work

This is Shipra. I've just joined your community. I am married and 22 years old. I am working as a telecaller in a software company but I am keen to pursue a career in HR. However, I am afraid that colleges will not admit me as I am married, but my husband is very supportive. I am thinking of doing a part-time MBA from IMT-GZB because I am based in Gzb. Could any one of you please help me as I am in tension due to this? I am really keen on HR.

Hi,

I am attaching one Excel sheet for the course details from AIIM. It is a good institute from where you can do your diploma in HR (correspondence). I have data only till a one-year program, but they do offer a two-year course. You can search on Google for AIIM (All India Institute of Management).

One more thing I want to suggest is, as you said, "I am afraid that colleges will not admit me as I am married." This is a kind of misconception. (My wife did an MBA after our marriage.) Regular courses have more credits incorporated. And as you said you are working in a software company as a telecaller, it will be better if you join some HR profile. It will help you more. Even if you join consultants, it will be helpful.

If you are seriously thinking about HR, then give a thought to my points.

No college, to my knowledge, would deny admission based on marital status. I know people who have joined institutes like IIMs and others even at the age of 45 and above. Since you are 22, your career is in its beginning stages. Give it a good start by pursuing a full-time MBA, I suggest."
