Facing Background Check Hurdles: How Can I Prove My Past Employment and Education?

Hi all, I recently got placed in one of my dream companies and am currently working. During the interview process, I was very open and truthful. I explained the educational breaks I had and how I molded myself after that. I provided all legitimate documents; nothing was fake. Now the problem I have is mentioned below.

Issue with Previous Employment Verification

One of my past organizations has shut down, and my current HR said that no one responded from the company. To prove that I worked there, I provided them with the last Form 16 and the payslip I received from the company.

Verification from Educational Institution

Now, they have said that nobody is responding from the college where I studied. So, I have provided them with the contact number of the HOD. I spoke to my HOD regarding this, and he mentioned that he is not aware of any background verification taking place or requesting my information.

Concerns and Next Steps

Now, I am worried if there are any chances for my current employer to terminate me. If yes, how can I fight back, stating that the documents and what I have said are all true? Is there any reputable background verification company recognized by MNCs so I can pay and get a background check done on my own?

Get an email ID from the college and share it with the present company. As suggested by Sushma, you can also share the website link.

HR would generally not accept it unless they get the confirmation from the university or college.

Yes, Form 16 and payslip will help. You can also show the bank account statement and share with them the contact number of a senior employee/HR who was working with you in the previous organization.
