PF Account Queries

Akshara Prasad
Hi All,

I have some queries regarding PF account transfer. I was employed with Company A for 4 yrs, where I opened my first PF Account. After that I joined Company B, but resigned from there within 5 months. Now I employed with another company C. It is asking me if I want to withdraw/transfer my PF account (which was started when I joined Company A). Company C is not aware about Company B. According to them Company A is my previous employer. Can somebody please tell what actually happens in PF transfer/withdrawal. If I transfer the account, I need to mention about my previous employer pf account. Which employer PF account should I mention, Company A or Comany B? And I dont know about PF account of company B. Will in any case does my present employer know about Company B. I dont want to transfer my PF account, as I not that happy with this company C, and I am looking for better opportunity. I want to continue with my existing PF account.

Please, could someone explain about the PF accounts withdrawal/transfer process, UAN no., PF account, interest.

Thanks in advance.

Please be clear what you exactly want to do.
If you want to transfer you have fill up the form 13 and submit it present or previous employer for transfer of pf fund. If you don't know the pf number you have contact previous employer HR Dept. or else forget that pf account. Your present company least bothers about your previous company pf account.
If you don't want to transfer the previous pf account it will be active 3 years and will earn interest after 3 years of exit date your pf account will be not active and you will not earn interest from the account. However you can transfer your pf accounts anytime to existing account anytime.
Regarding UAN it is the Universal Account Number issued to all pf members and it will the same throughout your service career. For more details go to www.epfindia.com
