Confused About PF Account Transfer? Need Help Deciding Between Company A and B!

Hi All, I have some queries regarding PF account transfer. I was employed with Company A for 4 years, where I opened my first PF Account. After that, I joined Company B but resigned from there within 5 months. Now I am employed with another company, C. It is asking me if I want to withdraw/transfer my PF account (which was started when I joined Company A). Company C is not aware of Company B. According to them, Company A is my previous employer. Can somebody please tell me what actually happens in PF transfer/withdrawal? If I transfer the account, I need to mention my previous employer's PF account. Which employer's PF account should I mention, Company A or Company B? I don't know about the PF account of Company B. Will my present employer know about Company B in any case? I don't want to transfer my PF account as I am not that happy with Company C, and I am looking for better opportunities. I want to continue with my existing PF account.

Clarifying PF Account Transfer and Withdrawal

Please be clear about what you exactly want to do. If you want to transfer, you have to fill up Form 13 and submit it to your present or previous employer for the transfer of the PF fund. If you don't know the PF number, you have to contact the previous employer's HR Department; otherwise, forget about that PF account. Your present company is least bothered about your previous company's PF account.

If you don't want to transfer the previous PF account, it will remain active for 3 years and will earn interest. After 3 years from the exit date, your PF account will become inactive, and you will not earn interest from the account. However, you can transfer your PF accounts to your existing account anytime.
