Lost Experience Letters After Absconding: How Can I Move Forward in My Job Search?

Johnthextreme
Hi, I already had two years of experience at xxx company. I was properly relieved and had both a relieving letter and experience letter. Now, I have joined another company, and they took both my relieving and experience letters before my joining here. Due to some reasons, I am now absconding from this company. Consequently, I have lost both my experience letters from this company and my previous experience letter. What steps can I take when applying to another company? Please help me. Thanks in advance.

Hello John,

Talk with your previous company and explain your part of the story. They can regenerate your relieving and experience letters.

At any cost, do not submit your original documents to your employer; this is an offense. During your joining time, only verify the original documents, and they will be returned to you. Only photocopies should be submitted to the employer. After completing the joining formalities, as per company policy, actions will be taken for background verification of your previous company, and details will be collected for the employer.

You are not mentioned in the new company HR policy. In some companies, a three-month salary is requested for the release of your original documents, or the expenses incurred during your joining formalities may be charged to you. Please ensure you pay the amount to be properly relieved by your current employer. Otherwise, you can continue the job, tackle the situation, and update your knowledge in challenging situations. Thinking about absconding is not the way to become a good leader.

Thanks, Gowtham. Is it possible to get my relieving letter again from my previous company after three months? How is it possible? How can I ask them? Please tell me the way.
