Payment of ESI Contribution

Presently, the facility for payment of ESI contribution is through the payment gateway of the State Bank of India or payment over the counter by cheque or DD along with a computer-generated challan to designated branches of the State Bank of India.

Now, the facility for payment of ESI contribution is available through net banking of the State Bank of India (SBI) and 58 major banks effective from 1st April 2015. Employers will be able to remit contributions either through net banking or over the counter at SBI branches.

From 1st May 2015 onwards, only electronic payments will be accepted in ESIC through online net banking of SBI and 58 major banks.

Please find attached a list of banks for online payment of PF and ESIC. For ESIC, you need to log on to your ESIC account, move to online payment, and enter the challan number. For PF, you just need to enter the challan number as generated from the EPF website.

ESIC is charging 2% on the challan value when we remit contributions online through other banks (Except SBI). Does anyone have more clarity on this? Is there any notification for the same? Please share your valuable inputs.

I have already generated the ESIC challan. However, SBI Bank has not received the ESIC challan. Could you please provide information on how to pay the ESIC generated challan online?

Go to ESIC website, go to the online payment option while generating/modifying the challan. It will lead you to the payment gateway. There you need to choose the name of the bank for payment, and the rest is the same as any net banking procedure.

There is no provision for banking after generating a challan. Bitter but truth. I have communicated with the IT team, and they told me the same thing.

Sir, please help me out of this problem. I made a mistake in ESI while generating monthly contributions. After generating the monthly contribution, I wrongly pressed the logout button of internet banking, so the monthly contribution is not paid. But now I am trying to pay the payment online, but it is not possible till now because they ask for the challan number, and I forgot to write down the challan number. What should I do to make the payment of ESI? Please help me.
