Mostly organization have negative worker that are not happy to their jobs. Always shows their bad attitude towards the work and environment. Still, there are some managers/supervisors have to handle them with a positive attitude and behavior. Although having bad attitude their efforts are successful.
Must now or identify the actions of negative people
Effectively communicate them
Coaching them to their concerned topics.
Reward them with positive feed back.

Negative people are there in every walk of life.
Even negative people need to earn to survive. .
So even when cribbing endlessly about job/life/politics/or life in general,he/she will keep working.
To combat negativity, one needs to stop over generalising the negative aspects.
Focus on positive aspects.
Do not try and force your views on others.
Negativity becomes a habit which is difficult to break and all efforts to channelise your attention towards small good achievements need to be reinforced in your mind.
As far as the managers role,he needs to communicate directly and more effectively with people.
Dispel rumours by direct communication.
Managers need to interact with people and try to bring out the best for indidividual as well as organisation.
rewards,positive reinforcements form part of management tools to bring negative people back on line or at least shed negativity to the extent that their productivity is not hampered.

Every organization and for that matter most of families have person with negative mindset. The best way to deal with them is through counseling continuously. If positive steps do not yield results, then it is better to fire them or else, they will spread negativity among more colleagues. Neopalgativity spreads faster than positivity.

Well, that is... They learn easy if they have any sense. Sometimes it takes more than one lesson to learn for some people while others get the pie but never learn that humility is for everyone not just select persons.
