Feeling Trapped and Distressed at Work: How Can I Get My Transfer Approved?

I am a female employee currently working in the maintenance field. For the past year, I have been facing numerous problems at my current job location. Despite one of my managers misbehaving with me, when I reported the incident and documented everything he said, the management sided with him. They issued warning letters to me, stating that I recorded the incident during office hours and threatened disciplinary action against me.

I have applied multiple times for a transfer from my current job location, but my officer in charge is not forwarding my letter. I work for a government organization, and this job is crucial for me. However, each day in my office feels like hell, and I am extremely disturbed here. They are withholding my application for transfer. Please help me.

- Stop treating yourself like a victim. Accept the situation and move forward.

- Take one day at a time and remember that there is a higher power who is there to take care of you if you take charge of your situation.
- Focus on other areas of your life. Join a hobby or a group. I remember joining Bharat Soka Gakkai at one point in my life, and it was really great.
- Talk to your management again and see if they can understand your point of view.
- Write a letter or email to the head of your department or unit, focusing on facts and not feelings.
- Sometimes we have to be politically savvy, so even if it calls for apologizing to that difficult manager, do that. Some people who become managers need a bit of ego massage.
