Confused About My Resignation Date: Is It Accepted from the 13th or the 18th?

yadavamol
Hi all, I have given my resignation on 13th Feb and sent the email to my Team Leader. On the 18th, I asked my Team Leader about the acceptance of the resignation. She told me to forward the email (resignation) to the Director and also mentioned that I have to serve a notice period of 30 days. Up to now, I have not received any reply from the Director. So today, I have sent another email to the Director stating that I am awaiting a response regarding my last working date.

Clarification on Resignation Acceptance Date

My Team Leader informed me that she had a discussion with the Director, and my resignation has been accepted verbally. Therefore, my question is regarding the acceptance of the resignation from which date? Is it from the 13th or the 18th of Feb?

They should accept the resignation from the 13th of Feb only, unless you were informed at the time of joining that the resignation is to be sent to the Director. They can raise the issue that you forwarded the resignation to the Director on 18th Feb 2015.

If your Team Leader says you need to serve a notice period of 30 days, you can be relieved by 17th March 2015 at the latest.

Hope your doubts are clear. All the best.

Hi Dave Sir, Actually, my team leader has not mentioned anything about my last working date, nor has the Director. So, from which date will they consider my resignation? Is it from the 13th or 18th of February?

As you have resigned on 13th Feb, your resignation date will be 13th Feb. Secondly, as you said in your first message, your TL told you to serve a 30-day notice period, so your last working day is 13th Feb + 30 Days.

Just give a polite reminder message that you have submitted your resignation and, as per the appointment letter and instructions from your TL, you have completed the notice period of 30 Days. This way, they should consider your resignation effective from 13th Feb and relieve you as early as possible, clearing all your pending dues with the company.

In case they deny the acceptance of your resignation, you should have proof that after the reminder, no one has responded to your message. Therefore, you have every right to leave after the 30-day notice period, and they cannot prevent your Full and Final Settlement (Salary Payment).

Hope this helps.

Thank you very much, Sir! Of course, it will help me a lot. I hope they will consider my resignation from the 13th of February itself so that I can be relieved as early as possible.
