Regarding Increment

Dear All
In our company we promote one employee in the month of Oct-2014 with a hike of Rs 2500/- whether this person is eligible for increment for the year 2015-16. Plz help me out

its absolutely your management decision. We cant give a suggestion on this.
You can avoid it saying to him that we have given you an increment in oct 2014 instead of april 2015. So we will give you another hike in april 2016 with all other employees. Or you can give an increment letter stating that this increment will be effective from oct 2015.
Discuss with your boss and decide accordingly.

yes he is eligible for the increment. But it is not his right to get the increment. The management has to take a decision based on his performance and potential.

Could you please furnish the general policy on sanction of increment on annual percentage basis percentage basis (reasonable percentagae 5% , 8%, 10% or 12% or Cost of Living /Minimum wages of the relevant scheduled employment.
I think a company should consider CTC inclusive of Employer's contribution to PF, PF adm charges, ESI, ESI adm charagaes and the like have to be considered for giving incement and promotion.
Generally at what spells say 5 years or 7 years giving Promotions .are reasonable.
Although it may be said that these are management policy kindly indicate the mostly acceptable ones.
