Confused About Notice Period Differences in Offer and Appointment Letters – What Should I Do?

Hi there, I am Rahal, currently working in a CMM Level 5 company and deployed at a client location. I received an offer letter when I joined, mentioning a 2-month notice period. However, after 3 months, I received an appointment letter stating that with reference to the offer letter, they are providing this appointment letter, which mentions a notice period of 1 month. I am confused about my actual notice period.

I have recently applied for resignation, and the company is asking me to serve a 2-month notice period. Should I opt for a buyout, i.e., pay 1 or 2 months of basic pay, as I have already secured another job and need to join within 1 month? Can I send a legal notice to my company as they have not accepted my resignation for the past 15 days and keep saying they will update tomorrow?

I have received a scanned copy of the appointment letter in my Gmail account. I also have a hard copy of the appointment letter where the HR manager's signature is printed. Are both versions valid if I send a legal notice?

I appreciate your suggestions on this matter.
