Hello, I am currently in the UK enrolled in MSc in Management and International Business fro Birmingham City University. I am doing my dissertation on - The Importance of Soft Skills on Global Corporations.
The study aims to understand the importance of soft skills in an international business environment. And to vend the ideas right which could add value to improve work culture. This study also aims to bring in a helping hand to the management and particularly for the Human Resource Management.
The main objectives of the study are as follows:
To identify the importance of Business skills in the employer’s market today.
To investigate the present understanding and awareness of soft skills at work by organisations and employees.
To elucidate the benefits of soft skills for both the organisation and the people within the organisation.
To evaluate the impact of soft skills on staff communication at a global level in the organisation.
To identify the loopholes and followed strategies used by the organisations for organisational as well as individual growth.
Now related to this I have framed few questions which are mentioned below. I would request you to kindly support me on this with your views.
1.What is the importance of Business/Soft skills in the employer’s market today?
2.What is the present understanding and awareness of soft skills at work by organisations and employees?
3.What are the strategies used by the organisations for organisational as well as individual growth?
4. Where can soft skills be acquired?
5.Can personal traits and habits be changed through such skill sets?
6.During an interview are soft skill considered as crucial as the technical/Hard skills?
7.Is there any test conducted during interview like psychometric test?
8.Does organisations spend equal time in assessing soft skills to technical skills?
9.Do you exclude candidates with extra ordinary soft skills because they did not meet company bench mark for technical excellence?
10.Why soft skills matter in this changing global market?
11.Does the organisation today expect its current employees or new joiners to know how to behave on job? Or additional skills training is given according to the requirement of the job?
12.Do you think soft skills can accompany hard/core skills and help organisations use its technical expertise to full advantage?
