Closed Bank Account Issue: How Can I Reclaim My PF Withdrawal?

Sym.dav@gmail.com
Hi Everyone, my query is all about PF withdrawal. Four years ago, I worked with a company where I was provided with PF benefits. After resigning, I applied for PF withdrawal, and the process was completed. However, the payment was made to a bank account that has since been closed. Can anyone kindly guide me on how to withdraw the PF amount again?

Regards,
Simon

If a bank account has been closed, then no PF deposit should be made to that account. In this case, please contact the PF department and provide them with a canceled cheque from your current bank for the PF deposit.

Please refer to the points raised by Mr. Saswata Banerjee for further response. If the bank account was closed, the payment is not credited, and the nearest office of PF can provide further guidance.

Please check the status of your claim on the PF portal. If it shows "PF settled and payment under process," please contact the PF office with a screenshot of the status and inform them of the new bank account in writing. The PF office will issue you a form; fill in the details, and the PF amount will be credited to the new account.

I have a slightly different issue. The current status of my withdrawal claim is 'Claim has been settled.' I received a response from the PF grievance portal stating that the amount was credited to my account through a cheque 25 days ago. However, when I checked with the bank, they said there is no such credit through any cheque. I have the cheque number provided by the PF department, but the money has not been credited to my account yet. Can anyone tell me what could be the problem/issue here? What can be the solution to this?

Thanks,
Rahul
