Can an Employee Who Passed Away After Resigning Still Claim a Pension?

One employee's date of joining was 08/09/2013, and he resigned in September 2014. His name is also in the cessation ECR challan for this month. Unfortunately, due to health problems, he passed away in November 2014. Is he eligible to claim a pension?

Pension Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for a pension, a minimum of 10 years of service is required in the EPS. If his service in EPS, when combined with other services, totals 10 years, he can claim a pension. Otherwise, he will receive a withdrawal benefit.

If the employee died as a member of a pension scheme, his family is entitled to receive a family pension. When I posted above, the death didn't come to my mind, sorry.

Abbas.
