I want to know if PF is applicable. What is the salary range from and to which figure? What is the employee's share and employer's share? Where does this money go, which account?
EPF is statutory for salaries equal to and below Rs. 15,000. Those already registered with PF must continue, even if they have crossed Rs. 15,000. In the case of new employees with a salary of more than Rs. 15,000, they can be enrolled in EPF with the agreement of both the employee and employer.
PF is deducted on Basic Pay + DA or Basic Pay into 12% of employee and employer contributions. If any employee's Basic Pay + DA or Basic Pay exceeds Rs. 15,000, the employer contribution ceiling is Rs. 1,800 only.
