Supporting Family on a Budget: Can I Get Tax Exemptions for Helping My Dad and Brother?

vikas1018
Hi, I am a 24-year-old single guy working in corporate X. I come from an economically weak family background, so I send money to my father's account and to my brother to support his engineering education. I send approximately 10K to my father and 8K to my brother per month.

Tax Exemption for Family Support

Is there any rule or law that would allow for tax exemption in this scenario? Please suggest. Thanks in advance :)

According to me, there is no provision in the Income Tax Act that provides a rebate when monetary support is provided to family members. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you.

The money paid to family members is not eligible for any tax exemption.

The government can't make such provisions for tax rebates. Each and every individual has one or more obligations to support their family.
