Big Mistake - Fake Ctc Submitted

dingdongraipur
Hi,
I had accepted one offer from IT MNC - Mumbai while accepting offer i had increase my variable bonus from 50 to 90 thousand acordingaly i had edited & submitted the appointment letter . I had now realise that i made a big mistake .
I had filled the form backgroud verification form . will background agency will able to verify the actual CTC details . I had submitted original salary slip where 50 thousand is reflecting in salary slip.
I had not yet joined the new organisation .
I know that i had made a big mistake & there was no need to increase minor salary .
Percentage wise it is 6-7 % increase in my CTC.
Currently where i am working it is also a big MNC .
Kindly advise

Dingdongraipur: The CBI is going to be arresting you unless you 'fess up to the change! (I couldn't help it).
Please reach out to your HR Team, let them know that you made an error and they'll do the needful (I hope so!)
And this is the sole reason MNC's have 'background checks' - our cultural attitude to inflate CTC, Salary, etc.

No one can predict with any certainty what anyone's response would be to / in any situation !
the call is really yours - tell them you edited the document ( which they will find out anyway if the investigation is thorough ) and hope for the best, or don't and hope that you are not caught ! Generally, any offer is subject to withdrawl if any false statements are found during verifications. If you join and join and such a material lie is found later, Company could be within rights to cancel your appointment.
Integrity and honesty is the starting point of any relationship. Even at very senior level appointments, the fall due doubts on these can be drastic. I have an article somewhere I'll try to dig out and post here - offhand, the ex CEO of Yahoo lost his job since he lied re his qualifications . Many more such !

Send correct facts to your new employer and intimate them to take appropriate decision within 3 or 4 days so that if they intend to cancel it they can do so and not terminate you later after your joining their organization.
