Struggling with Legal Requirements for ISO 14001 & OHSAS 18001 in Manufacturing? Need Guidance!

I'm working in Gujarat, and the company is involved in the manufacturing of pressure vessels, piping, skids, etc. I am familiar with the requirements of ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 but lack knowledge about the legal and other requirements. Can anyone assist me with understanding the requirements and guide me on where to begin? We have already obtained an ID and password on the GPCB site.

My basic documentation work for 14 and 18 is complete, and the implementation process is ongoing. However, I am facing challenges with the legal requirements and everything related to GPCB.

To comply with the above clause, first, you need to identify and have access to all applicable legal requirements in your industry.

List of Applicable Legal Requirements for Your Pressure Vessel Company:

First part:

1. The Factories Act, 1948, and Gujarat State Factories Rules.
2. The Environment Protection Act and rules.
3. The Static Mobile Pressure Vessel.
4. The Electricity Act and rules.
5. The Contract Labour Act, etc.

The above acts and rules are applicable legal requirements for your industry.

Second part:

1. Identify the applicable sections and rules for your industry in the above-mentioned acts and rules.

For example, The Factories Act, 1948:
- Factory license as per Factories Act.
- Sec 21: Fencing on machinery.
- Provision for supplying drinking water.
- Provisions for washrooms, canteens, spittoons.
- Humidity in workroom.
- Ventilation in work areas.
- Health check-ups for employees, etc., come under the Factories Act.

Environment Protection Act:
- CFO, CFE, water cess, environment statement form 5, batteries returns form 8, etc.

You need to identify the applicable sections and rules similar to the examples above for your activities in all applicable laws for your industry.

All these should be available in document form and updated regularly when acts and rules are amended.

Ensure compliance with the identified applicable laws for your business.
