Feeling Stuck? How to Navigate Job Applications with Varied Skills and Unusual Salary History

Sireesha_943354
Hi, I have 3 years of experience across two small-sized companies. In the first company, where I worked for 1.5 years, I started in a testing position that involved manual testing on websites. Gradually, I was also assigned tasks to develop websites and web-based applications because I was deemed more suitable for that work rather than testing. Later, due to mutual understandings between the managements, I was transferred to the second company, which takes contracts from my first company. I worked in the second company for another 1.5 years, but my salary was paid by the first company. As it is small-sized, they do not have salary accounts for employees and instead transferred salaries to our personal savings accounts. In the second company as well, I worked as a web developer and application developer using various technologies like GWT, Tomcat, SQL, HTML, Java, and more, based on customer requirements and demands. Currently, we are working on a website using Bootstrap technology.

Transitioning to a Larger Company

Now, I want to transition from my current company to a middle or large-sized company. However, I have not worked consistently with one technology throughout the 3 years, but all my work has been related to web development and testing. I am unsure about which technologies to focus on when applying for jobs and how to explain my salary situation to interviewers since it is not a direct salary account.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.

Don't worry, companies need employees like you who are good at their work. Tell them the truth about your salary details and provide them with what they requested. There is good scope for Tester+Developer in the future. Choose one technology that you are good at, then put all other skills as secondary.

Thank you.
