Seeking Advice on Crafting a Legal Employee Bond for Probationers Transitioning to Permanent Roles

Hi,

We are currently training probationers and are planning to offer some of them permanent employment upon successful completion of probation. However, we want them to sign a bond stating that they will work for our company for a period of 2 years. Could someone please send me a sample bond and also mention which clauses can legally be included in the bond?

Regards, VM

Thank you for your assistance. It was quite useful. I have one more question: How much money should be claimed if an employee breaks the bond? Should it match the amount spent by the company, or can it be more? For example, if we have spent about 30,000 INR on training, can we set the penalty amount at 100,000 INR? Please provide clarification. Thank you in advance.

Hi all,

This is Nikki. Two weeks back, I joined a job in a software company by signing a 3-year bond. In that, it specified that I should work for 3 years there. If I breach the bond, I should pay 1.5 lakh amount, else they would file a case against me in court. Now, I got a good job in an MNC, and I want to join there. If I quit this job, will they file a case against me in court? I am just fearing about that. Can anyone tell me the solution? Whether employment bond is legal? Will it work in court? Please, guys, do help me. I signed a 20 rupees bond paper. Tell me the legal value of this.

Thanks,
Nikki Sam
