I have been working in a Pharmaceuticals MNC company for the last four years. Recently, the company hired a new ZBM who is looking to reorganize the field force. Unfortunately, he has forcefully initiated a notice period for me, which I would like to have canceled.

Could you please advise me on the rules and regulations pertaining to this matter?

I think generally in every company, there is a provision to terminate the service of an employee by giving one month, two, or three months' notice or by paying an amount in lieu thereof. You mentioned that you have been working for the last four years in an MNC pharmaceutical company. At the time of joining, did you not receive an appointment letter? If you did, was the notice period mentioned in that letter? If there is no such provision in your appointment letter, it cannot be made applicable to you with retrospective effect unless your free consent is obtained to do so.
