I decided to serve short notice period therefore I can join new company within stipulated time. Kindly solve my queries which are as below:
1. Till date my 42 ELs are balance. Is it adjusted for short notice period.
2. Wheather Any leave can be take in notice period or not.
3. If I take leave in notice period my notice period will extend or not.
Positive response expected from all experts.

you can serve short notice period provided, the company/organisation agree the same, in many cases the organisation ask the employee to deposit the amount two months or else what is the rules specified thereof ....

In few companies ELs are adjusted if not serving notice period. If it is not adjustable then they may provide leave in cash. You need to consult HR of your company for this.
Yes you can take leaves when you are in notice period but those leaves will not be considered as paid leave and notice period is not extended. But it is recommended not to take leave while serving notice period unless its genuine.

adding to what i said- Leave en-cash will be upto a certain limits of leaves as per the company policy. If all these are not done then they may ask you for deposits for the no of days you are not serving notice period. Or else it will be deducted from your full and final settlement.
