How to Allot a UAN Number to a New Joiner

The employee joined the organization last month. This is his first job. I have already deducted PF as per PF rules and submitted it online after creating a PF Number. However, I want to allot a UAN number.

I worked from May 2012 to August 2013, and since then, I have been working on my own project for around three years. Consequently, I do not have a UAN assigned to my name. I recently joined a new corporate firm, and they are requesting me to process the UAN and submit it for future PF deductions. I have created and been assigned a UAN number, but I am unable to activate it. Could you kindly suggest how I should proceed?
