Does Our Consulting Firm in Hyderabad Need Labour Licenses and Registers? Seeking Advice!

Can anyone please advise me if our company, a Pvt Ltd company providing "Consulting Services," requires Labour Licenses? We have 35 staff members in Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad. Currently, we are paying Professional Tax. Additionally, if we are not required to have Labour Licenses, do we need to maintain any registers? If yes, please provide a list of the necessary registers.

As per the act, if you are engaging on a contract basis with another establishment, then you have to register under the Contract Labour Act. However, as per the Shops and Establishment Act, you have to maintain some registers under the act such as Muster cum Wages Register, Leave Register, Damage Register, Fine Register, Bonus Register, etc.

As per the Andhra Pradesh Contract Labour Rules, if you have more than 5 employees working as contract laborers and if you are a contractor, then you have to obtain a contract labor license. If you are the principal employer, then you have to obtain a principal employer license. If the contract labor license is not applicable, then you have to maintain a register under all the labor laws that are applicable.

Hi, thanks for the information. Can you also please advise on the registers to be maintained as per the Shops & Establishment Act? If possible, kindly provide details of vendors selling the registers in Hyderabad.
